Happy Friday MCS Community!

Administrative Announcements

Montessori Key West Candles are BACK!
Order forms have been sent home with your children for the Montessori Key West Signature Candle. You know the drill: reach out to friends and family to purchase these special candles – order forms can be submitted to the front office. Payment can be made by PayPal (QR code on the form – here’s the link: PAYPAL FOR MONTESSORI KEY WEST

Each candle is $40, with a $22 profit to the school (!!) and last year we sold over 300!

We have a few candle samples in the front office for you to sample (you have to smell them to believe how lovely they are!)

Some successful sales strategies last year included: text a photo of a handwritten letter from student to family & friends & shared on social media, share attached/below file in offices and workplaces, and this year we can all contact last year’s buyers who loved the candles to buy more!

Parent Education Series

Thank you to all who attended our Parent Education Series this week. Our Upper Elementary program offered to share the slide deck used in their session – it is attached and very much worth a read no matter the current age of your child.  Elementary Parent Education 2025

iGuardian Internet Safety for Children Presentation
Does your home (or any home that your child visits – family/friends/neighbors) have screens that access the internet? If so, YOU NEED THIS PRESENTATION.

We are lucky to have members of our community who are active HSI agents, working to protect our children from threats online that are very real. They have graciously offered to host a FREE iGuardian Presentation to teach our community of parents about the dangers that exist online currently and how to protect our children in today’s world. (I attended this session the last two years and it was incredibly valuable.)

Tuesday, October 14th at 5:30PM please join us on campus for this important session. Please let us know if you will need childcare so that we have the appropriate staff on site. This information is particularly valuable for parents with children using their own technology sources (tablets, phones.)

Vino’s Wine Tasting Fundraiser

Vino’s at 810 Duval Street is hosting a wine tasting on October 28th from 6-8PM and all proceeds will benefit our school! If this is your kind of thing, please plan to attend and enjoy a fun evening for a wonderful cause. Thank you to the fabulous Cagney Stein who will be bartending and donating to our school as well. We are able to do what we do because of gestures like this!

Weekly Miracle Makers
Oftentimes it feels like our school is powered by Miracles. Miracles large and small happen each week to pull off all that we do here. Those miracles appear in acts of love and kindness and service by parents, children, staff, alumni, community members, and more, and each week we highlight a special one here.

This week’s Miracle Maker is Evan Haskell & WeCycle, who generously donated two new bikes + several helmets & locks to our Middle School program. These bikes will now be used for Learning Expeditions, as our Middle School program will start biking to their field trips every week instead of taking a bus. Perfectly suited for an island campus. Remember folks, never grow up!
