Happy Wednesday MCS Community!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all who participated, volunteered, and helped with this weekend’s 5K Race & Kids Fun Runs!  We raised over $14,000 in sponsorships, had close to 170 registrants (highest turnout we’ve had to date!), raised over $1,000 in donations, witnessed many children show courage and find joy in running a very fun race (including many children ages 6-13 running the 5K Race!) and threw one heck of a foam dance party!  Please mark your calendars for next year’s race: December 6, 2026!

Holiday Light Conch Train with Montessori Key West

One of our favorite community events is open for sign ups: The Holiday Lights Conch Train – Montessori Edition!!  💫

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 16th at 5:45PM – we’ll meet on the Front Lawn for treats and board the trains on Varela St.  Wear your holiday gear (pajamas encouraged!)

Tickets are $15 per student & $20 per guest (grown ups and non-student children.)  We will invoice you after sign ups.

We reserved an extra train this year, so we are happy to be able to invite grandparents and other family & friends in addition to immediate family.  The more the merrier!!

This year is also a “Half Tour” – meaning the ride will be 45 mins (instead of 90) to accommodate our younger age group.

We will be out of school beginning Monday, December 22nd with a return of Tuesday, January 6th.  We offer Camp from 8AM-3:30PM for Toddler & Primary programs for these two weeks, aside from December 25, January 1, and January 5.  Camp is $65/day (or $35/day for half day students.)  If you would like to register your child for Winter Break Camp please complete the attached registration form and return to the office before December 12th.  As a reminder, space in camp is limited and confirmed on a first come, first served basis.

Weekly Miracle Makers

Oftentimes it feels like our school is powered by Miracles.  Miracles large and small happen each week to pull off all that we do here.  Those miracles appear in acts of love and kindness and service by parents, children, staff, alumni, community members, and more, and each week we highlight a special one here.

This week’s Miracle Maker is Ms. Dawn!  Ms. Dawn Anderson is the leader of our Upper Elementary program, and also spends an incredible amount of time supporting our community outside of school.  This weekend she spearheaded decorating our tree at the Custom House Festival of Trees – decorating a tree with handmade ornaments by all of the children in all of the programs – straight after running the 5K race on Sunday.  Ms. Dawn is a pillar of our community and we appreciate how far above and beyond she continues to go for all of us.
