Happy Friday MCS Community!

They say “when it rains, it pours,” and this week was an interesting example of that here on campus!  We got wet in the downpours all week, but found time to play outside whenever we could.  We also dealt with a wave of illness that, while is typically expected every year at some point, came on strong and fairly early this year.

As of now we are monitoring for symptoms of Hand, Foot, and Mouth (HFM) as well as COVID, as we have had confirmed cases of both in the community.  To keep our campus healthy and safe, please avoid sending children to school when they exhibit symptoms like runny nose & cough, and even low grade fever.

We are grateful to all who endured both the raining and the pouring with a sense of humor and a compassionate understanding for all that is outside of our control.  We are looking forward to sunny skies and a healthy campus!

A Very Key West Car Wash

Please plan to join us TOMORROW Saturday, September 6th from 9AM-12PM on Varela St & the Front Lawn for A Very Key West Car Wash & Community Gathering! (Please share this link with your friends!) We will make a call about the weather around 7:30AM – if it is not thundering & lightning we will likely still have the event even if it is drizzling.

On Varela Street we’ll be washing all your island rides – cars, golf carts, box bikes, scooters, bicycles – you ride it here, we’ll wash it!  Kids & their grown ups alike will be soapin’ and scrubbin’ all morning for donations to our Scholarship fund!

Inside the fence we’ll have a party open to all – with a coffee shop & Goldman’s bagels, bake sale, and slip n slide!  Entry is donation-based and open to all.  Iced Coffee donated by our favorite, Keys Coffee Company!

We need volunteers!  Sign up to wash, bake, advertise, or donate here:  VOLUNTEER SIGN UP LINK!

iGuardian Internet Safety for Children Presentation

Does your home (or any home that your child visits – family/friends/neighbors) have screens that access the internet?  If so, YOU NEED THIS PRESENTATION.

We are lucky to have a few parents in our community who are active FBI/HSI agents, working to protect our children from threats online that are very real.  They have graciously offered to host a FREE iGuardian Presentation to teach our community of parents about the dangers that exist online currently and how to protect our children in today’s world.  (I attended this session the last two years and it was incredibly valuable.)

September 16th at 5:30PM please join us on campus for this important session.  Please let us know if you will need childcare so that we have the appropriate staff on site.  This information is particularly valuable for parents with children using their own technology sources (tablets, phones.)

International Day of Peace Celebration & March

On Friday, September 16th our Primary, Elementary, & Middle School Programs will walk to Bayview Park where we will join our friends from May Sands Montessori to celebrate International Day of Peace.

Buy Your Shirts (Adults & Children)

Below is the link to the shirts for students and parents.  They come in a variety of styles and colors and this year you can choose your own!  If you ordered last year, they are the same so you can reuse what you have.  Order any color/style you would like for you and your children, but be sure to order soon to make sure you receive your shirt before the 16th.  They are on sale today!!  PEACE DAY SHIRT

Join the Walk!

Are you available to walk with us from school to Bayview Park?  Parents of Primary, Elementary, and Middle School are invited to meet us at school at 8:45AM to help with the walk and enjoy the ceremony.  If you are not able to join us and/or want to lend a hand in another way, we will need wagons to cart tired children back to campus after the event.
