Happy Friday MCS Community!
It’s Teacher Appreciation Week
Today is the final day of Teacher Appreciation Week. It is probably not a coincidence that this week falls around Mother’s Day each year, as the two roles are similar in their difficulty to honor the deep extent of their offerings. It is impossible to repay our Lead Guides & Assistants for what they do for us: they give our children their hearts, souls, minds, time, energy, sleep, patience, nervous systems, sweat, tears, and ask nothing in return. The staff at Montessori Key West in particular uniquely offers a sense of peace and kindness foreign to many families who walk through our gates. They are the adults we want our children to learn from, emulate, and absorb like a sponge. There are not enough ways to thank them, but once again this year we tried in the hopes they would feel our love and gratitude.
Thanks to the Parents in our community who contributed to the initiative, we have given the full-time Guides & Assistants a surprise-a-day, with the big one today. Special thank you to the group of already overextended Moms who made this week happen on behalf of the parent community: Sophie Hamilton, Jenny Salzmann, Maria Castillo, and Jenny Robinson.

Live auction of each classroom’s piece starts at 6:15PM. Please BYOB as this event does not provide food or beverages. This is a very special evening and we look forward to seeing everyone there!
Weekly Miracle Makers
Oftentimes it feels like our school is powered by Miracles. Miracles large and small happen each week to pull off all that we do here. Those miracles appear in acts of love and kindness and service by parents, children, staff, alumni, community members, and more, and each week we highlight a special one here.
This week’s Miracle Makers are our Teachers & Assistants, who make Miracles on this Campus every day.
Just today, our classrooms rotated to view each other’s dioramas and art work, and the Guides and Assistants moved their entire classes through the campus with ease and joy. It is a miracle to have these miraculous humans with us here, caring for and guiding our children.
