MCS Weekly Newsletter – August 19, 2026

We are one full week back in action and what a great start to the year we have had! It is such a joy seeing our returning friends and how much they have grown over just a few Summer months, and it is so special to start to make connections with our new friends on campus. We are quickly normalizing and getting to work at all program levels. Please start to check Montessori Compass for photos of your children during their school day – they are great conversation starters and a window into their world here.

Don’t forget we have new school shirts in lots of fun new colors for sale in the front office!

Parent/Corporation Meeting

Throughout the year we hold three Parent/Corporation Meetings (we are all members of the Corporation at Montessori Children’s School.) The first of the three meetings this year will be Thursday, August 27th at 6PM. We hold these meetings on Zoom so you can attend from your evening routine. Meeting attendance is worth 1 work/pay hour. This is a great opportunity to learn more about high level plans for the school (including expansion of our programs, school direction, and other exciting goals) as well as a chance to interact with and hear from other parents and our staff outside of school hours. The Zoom link will be distributed the day of the meeting.

Community Car Wash “Wash, Ride & Slide”

Please plan to join us for our Annual Community Car Wash Saturday, September 12th from 9AM-12PM here On Campus. We throw a party on the Front Lawn with a Slip N Slide, Bake Sale, and a DJ Jimmy Jamz dance party. On Varela Street we hold a washing station for cars, golf carts, bicycles, tricycles, scooters – if you’re riding it, we’re washing it! Kids and grown ups alike! This year WeCycle will be sponsoring a special Bike Tune Up station as well! Sign ups for volunteers, donations, and baked goods will be going out soon – but mark your calendars for this epic community event!

Dante is offering a fantastic morning fitness class for our parents, with a new time closer to drop off! Try it out Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8:20AM at Bayview Park!

A Kids’ Kickboxing Program launches Sept 1 at Truman Waterfront. Info in flyer!
