Happy Friday MCS Community!
A Super Summary of the Very Big Things Happening Here at our Dreamy Little Island School:
- This week we hosted the New Gate Global Campus Community in Key West – this is an online learning program our Middle School students participate in that allows our students access to world-class Montessori teachers and curriculum that otherwise would not be available on our island. We coordinated and hosted a week full of adventure and fun: fancy dinners, boat trips, museum/art gallery tours and workshops, walking tours – the whole Key West experience. Our current and rising Middle Schoolers represented our school beautifully and we are very proud to call them ours.
- Did you even know we HAD a Middle School? And it’s growing… Next year, our Campus will expand to a new (to us) building on White Street where our Upper Elementary and Middle School students will now spend their days. We are expanding our Lower Elementary program to a second classroom on our Main Campus. We have welcomed new staff, more students, and continue to plant the seeds for our future as the demand for Montessori education in our community grows. Gone are the days of having to plan ahead for how you’ll avoid the bottleneck of Middle School if Montessori education is the path for your family: we are building a place that we hope will continue to serve our children and our families as far into their education journey as possible.
- In June we will (hopefully) be on the agenda for a Planning Board meeting addressing our new satellite campus and the necessary renovations and approvals – this is where we will be in need of support. If you are willing to send emails or attend the meeting please let us know.

Weekly Miracle Makers
Oftentimes it feels like our school is powered by Miracles. Miracles large and small happen each week to pull off all that we do here. Those miracles appear in acts of love and kindness and service by parents, children, staff, alumni, community members, and more, and each week we highlight a special one here.
This week’s Miracle Maker goes to Evan Haskell, our Board President and long-time supporter (and alumni!) Evan works behind the scenes and has been a pillar of our growth, particularly in this current chapter of expansion in our Upper levels. Amy made a special presentation to Evan at last night’s Corporation Meeting – here he is rocking his “ring leader” hat and continuing to call the shots of this circus with a smile.
