Happy Friday MCS Community!

Work/Pay Hours

As the end of the year approaches here is your reminder of our Work/Pay policy:

Each family is required to fulfill 10 hours of Work/Pay + 2 Fundraising hours each school year.  Please log your hours in the Work/Pay binder in the front office.  At the end of the school year, if hours are unfulfilled they are billed at $30/hour for Work/Pay and $110/hour for Fundraising.

Here are a few opportunities if you are still needing hours:

  • Attend the Supper Club Event April 25th (Counts as a Fundraising hour per ticket)
  • Campus Clean-Up (Leaf blowing, Painting, We ALWAYS have a need!)
  • Donate to a Classroom (Each class has a never-ending Amazon wish list and limited budget by the end of the year – simply contact your child’s teacher and she will send you what she needs)
  • Help set up/prep campus/provide refreshments for our upcoming Cultural Immersion Art Show May 9th
  • Attend the last Corporation Meeting May 22nd at 6PM (Counts as 1 hour)

If you have not logged your hours in the Work/Pay binder please come and do so, or respond to this email with what you need logged and we can jot them down for you.  Don’t get caught with a bill at the end of the year if completing the hours can actually be fun and feel pretty good to contribute to a place we all want to take good care of.

Our Annual Supper Club Fundraiser for Grown Ups & PJ Party for Kids

MCS Supper Club is UPON US!  April 25th 5:45PM at Antonia’s!  It is an evening full of great food, friends, local performances, and good old fashioned fun.  It’s a chance to dress up and venture out into the world and feel like a human again.  It’s a chance to connect with like-minded folks in the same chapter of life.  It’s a chance to celebrate being a part of this very special community.  Don’t miss it.  We only have a handful of tickets left.

Buy Your Tickets here: https://www.zeffy.com/ticketing/mcs-supper-club-2025-antonias

Need childcare in order to attend?  We hold a PJ Party the night of the Supper Club event to free up the parents for the party.  You can also participate in the PJ Party even if you are not attending the Supper Club event (although we hope you will join us for the party!)  See attached flyer with details.  Email office@montessorikeywest.com to reserve your child’s spot for the PJ party because space is limited.

Our Silent Auction is absolutely stacked with incredible items gifted by mostly local businesses out of the goodness of their hearts.  We will be circulating the link next week.  Bidding opens Tuesday and closes Friday at midnight.  Anyone can participate!  Please plan to share the link with friends and family near and far.  This is a wonderful opportunity to treat yourself to something special and fun, and also support our school and scholarships for families dedicated to providing Montessori education for their children.

Weekly Miracle Makers

Oftentimes it feels like our school is powered by Miracles.  Miracles large and small happen each week to pull off all that we do here.  Those miracles appear in acts of love and kindness and service by parents, children, staff, alumni, community members, and more, and each week we highlight a special one here.

This week’s Miracle Maker is our own Ms. Ashley.  You may know Ms. Ashley as a once in a lifetime Toddler Guide, but behind the scenes Ms. Ashley is also an incredible team player on our staff, and the brains and sweat behind a lot of what happens on our campus.  Tonight is our annual Toddler Prom, and you can bet that it will be absolutely beautiful simply because you can always bet on Ms. Ashley.  The love and care that she gives to our school and to each child in her care is unmatched, and we are so grateful to be part of the Miracle that is her dedication to our community.  Thank you, Ms. Ashley!
