Pigeon Plum Newsletter
We have all made it! The first few weeks of school are already behind us and as much as we were all probably a bit sad to say goodbye to summer, it probably feels good to be back into more of a routine. All of the children are settling in to their new classroom environment and beginning to learn our routine here at school. It’s amazing how much they can adapt to new people, new things, and a new environment in such a short amount of time.
The Pigeon Plums have been busy working on lessons such as rock scrubbing, object to picture matching of animals that are pets, and banana slicing. Painting has been especially popular so far and our first canvas is already looking abstractly beautiful; a few friends have enjoyed painting so much, they have taken to painting their hands and faces to see what it would be like! During circle time we have been singing Five Little Ducks, Baby Shark, The Bubblegum Song, and The Bumblebee Song. Everyone always laughs during The Bubblegum Song when the gum gets “stuck” to different parts of our bodies (head, ears, knees, etc.). And snack time has been going great! The children have been attempting to place their napkins on their laps and use forks (even on the Kix we had the other day!). By Friday, many friends were already cleaning up their things without help or guidance.
It’s going to be an exciting year, full of growth, learning, and fun. We are looking forward to sharing in the start of your family’s Montessori journey and thank you for sharing your children with us!
Here’s to a great year!
