January Gumbo Limbo Newsletter

Dear Parents and Children,

Hoping that you are having a relaxing time and enjoying the seasons festivities with this beautiful breezy weather we are having. Thank you for the wonderful gifts and cards, as it was so thoughtful and generous, and most of all we would like to thank you for making us feel appreciated.

December was busy for the Gumbo’s. We had a great Bake Sale with delicious baked goods donated from parents and the community. Thank you to all of you that cooked, baked, bought, sold and supported our bake sale. We were able to raise a very healthy $750, which would not have been possible without the help of Julien’s Mom Narceline. A very special “Merci ” for your dedication and help. We are already ordering great things for the class. With everybody getting involved, we were able to make this a success.

For the month of January with the beginning of the New Year we will be discussing time and measure. Recording time, seasons, months of the year, days of the week, hours in a day, minutes in an hour and seconds in a minute. We will also explore the season we are in, ‘winter’, how weather changes, and how people and animals’ needs change too.

We will also be talking about famous people. Martin Luther King was born in January and we will start talking about the important role he played during the civil rights movement.

Peace and love Ms.Nicole and Ms.Pascale
