January Gumbo Limbo News

Welcome back and a happy new year!

I hope everyone is feeling reinvigorated and well-rested.  Ms Nicole and I hope you had a great winter break. We are ready to get back into our routine and our beautiful learning environment.

I want to thank you for the lovely gifts and cards, and most of all we would like to thank you for making us feel appreciated.

We would like to give Piper and Sloan a very warm welcome to our Gumbo Limbo classroom. Also a very warm welcome to Camden, who will be visiting during our work cycle every day.

In January, as well as continuing our volcano model building (which we are in the middle of), we will be discussing seasons, time and measurement, months of the year, days of the week, hours in day, minutes in an hour, and seconds in a minute. We will measure volumes (1 cup, 1/2 cup etc,), heights and lengths, while also exploring places that have cold climates and what people, animals, insects and plants do in the winter.

Remember that the children might take a little longer to get back into routine. Make this first week back to school an easy one for you and your child by getting plenty of rest. Decide on clothes the night before, give yourself enough time so you don’t have to rush yourself or your child, and have a nice relaxed breakfast.

Thank you for taking the time to attend the Parent/Teacher conferences. If there is anything that you forgot to ask at your conference or any feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Peace and love   Ms. Nicole   Ms. Pascale
