January Banyan Newsletter

Greetings and Happy New year to the Banyan Families! It was my pleasure to meet all the families at the Parent-Teacher Conferences. I felt satisfied by observing and following the child’s needs in the classroom; it helps me to understand each child’s learning pattern and needs. Only through observation can we learn about life, people, the environment and the essential interaction which take place within this dynamic cosmos.

Banyans are welcoming two new friends, Jonah and Maximus to our classroom!

The topic of the Month

Concentration:

Concentration is focusing attention on a specific task for a relatively uninterrupted length of time from minutes to hours. Often concentration occurs with an individual alone but concentration can also happen when a group of children is working together. The full work cycle time is an important aspect of the Montessori environment. Children can work for long periods of time in real activity under the correct conditions. Interrupting the child in his great work is disrespectful.
