Dear Gumbo Limbo Parents,
February promises to be a busy fun filled month for our school community with lots of activities off and on compass. In the class we will be looking into buildings and different structures, from arches to bridges. We have several lessons on different structures, including a model of a Roman Arch which the children can build in the same authentic building method the Romans used hundreds of years ago. If anyone has any experience in construction or architecture and would like to come in and talk with the children about different buildings, how they are made and/or show some tools of the building trade it would be great, please let me know. (A great way to attain parent hours) The children love having visitors during our circle times.
On Friendship Appreciation Day, Friday Feb. 24th we will celebrate by creating friendship crafts and a special snack. Each Primary class will be baking a special snack to share all together on Friendship Day. The Children really enjoyed this day last year, it was fun and a great hit.
