Hello families,
I would like to tell you how grateful I am for each and every one of you. I’m so thankful to have your child in my life and enjoy going to work everyday to be with them. They inspire me!
Speaking of inspiration, we read and finished a great book in November called Number the Stars. We were able to see a local synagogue and speak with the rabbi about acceptance. I love reading this book because it focuses on the helpers while the Nazis were taking over Europe during World War II. Mr. Rogers and I both agree that helpers are needed all over the world and come in many shapes and sizes. One thing that we have done to help our community is visit the food shelf on Stock Island.
In my last newsletter in October, we were just headed to the food shelf and clothing pantry to help. It was empowering to start a project and finish it by going to the source and helping others so closely. Our volunteerism will not end there! We are excited to continue to volunteer at SOS the last Friday of the month and also do an ocean cleanup bi monthly. We have tentatively scheduled our next Ocean Clean Up for Monday, December 3. Stay tuned for more information and weather updates. Captain Rachel with Honest Eco will be leading this trip again.
We have done so many awesome projects that I can’t list them all. We also are starting a Cocoplum Popcorn Shop. Our next challenge will be learning how to properly make change for customers and run a business! We’ve also had some great experts visit, including a mindfulness musician. We look forward to an exciting December.
Peace and love,
Ms. Ashleigh
